Southeast Kansas Living did a feature article about us.

"I tried to do upgrades to make it nice," Hoppes says. "We did granite and slate, and I really spent the money on linens and towels and things. That's why I bill it as upscale, because it is. It's not just a farmhouse." | Spring 2014

Welcome to the Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is the perfect place for the business person wanting quiet and comfort. Imagine working at the desk and looking out at trees, a sunset throws a warm glow over the big bales of hay resting in the field; instead of the requisite mirror over the desk at the can't-sleep-because-of-noise-from-the-highway motel.

Imagine sleeping in the peace and quiet of the country, instead of with a pillow over your head because of rowdy neighbors. Imagine getting up in the morning and cooking your own bacon and eggs, instead of the cold fake eggs and day-old danishes they put out for the morning mob at the motel.

The Farmhouse is the perfect place for a couple’s get-away. Seclusion, yet still close to town. Privacy, peacefulness. A place to kick back, relax and reconnect with each other. Sure, there is TV, high-speed internet, books, and board games too, but imagine taking a bottle of wine outside, sitting in lawn chairs under the big tall shade tree and talking while watching the sun set behind the trees.

The Farmhouse is also the perfect place to meet friends for a girl’s weekend. Being less than a mile from town means that you get to go shopping or out to eat, while still having the conveniences of home.

And let’s not forget honeymooners; the Farmhouse is private and cozy enough to spend your entire honeymoon there. But, maybe you just need a place to stay your wedding night, before you leave the next day. A place that is still close, but away from all the family staying at the local hotel. It can also be rented for guests traveling to the wedding, or for the the bridal party to get ready in.
